Haikou Building Overhang Historical and Cultural Neighborhood Protection and Upgrading Project is located in Haikou City, Hainan Province, commissioned by the Haikou Building Overhang Old Street Investment and Development Co., Ltd., our company undertook the survey and mapping work of the project.
The work includes: 1. Conducting single-unit mapping of existing buildings for 23 historical buildings involved in the repair works of publicly-owned buildings in the historical and cultural district, which requires high precision and describes every line on the buildings; 2. Conducting topographic mapping and detecting the existing municipal pipelines on roads for the 4 blocks involved in the project of the traditional block facade improvement and reconstruction works. At the same time, mapping of the block facade was carried out for 2 streets.
The structure of houses in Haikou Building Overhang Historical and Cultural Neighborhood is in Southeast Asian style, with complicated lines, which makes the measurement work difficult. The surveyors use 3D laser scanner to measure, and for the areas that cannot be scanned, they use a box ruler to measure and record the measurement data. Because the houses are old and have not been repaired, some of them have collapsed or become unsafe buildings, which cannot be measured and bring great difficulties to the subsequent mapping work. For the inaccessible houses, drone photography and inclined photogrammetry were used for measurement. Finally, a variety of measurement methods were combined to draw the building profile and topographic map, which provided reliable and accurate measurement data for the design organization and the construction organization, and also provided a reliable technical basis for the subsequent building repair work.
The project started surveying on July 7, 2024 and stopped on August 6, 2024 for a total of 30 days. All the information of this project has been submitted to the owner and successfully passed the acceptance of the owner.
